Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Alcin Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the company operating VastCurrent at vastcurrent.com ("the Platform"). By creating an account or using VastCurrent in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use VastCurrent.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use VastCurrent. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you confirm that you have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform and that they have reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts found to be operated by individuals below the minimum age without prior notice.

3. Your Account

3.1 Registration

To access VastCurrent's features, you must register for an account by providing a valid email address and choosing a unique username, or by authenticating through a supported OAuth provider (Google, GitHub, or Facebook). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@vastcurrent.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for any losses resulting from your failure to safeguard your credentials.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one account. Operating multiple accounts to circumvent moderation actions, artificially inflate engagement, or manipulate Trust Scores is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension of all associated accounts.

3.4 Username Policy

Usernames must be unique and may contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores (3–30 characters). We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that impersonate other individuals, brands, or public figures, or that violate these Terms.

4. The Trust System

VastCurrent operates a Trust Score system — a transparency-first feature central to our mission of reducing bots, spam, and misinformation. Your Trust Score is calculated algorithmically based on account signals such as age, activity, and community interactions. Trust Score tiers (New, Member, Trusted) are publicly visible on your profile.

We do not guarantee any specific Trust Score tier. Trust Scores may increase or decrease based on your activity and community signals. Attempting to artificially manipulate your Trust Score — including through coordinated inauthentic behaviour, purchased engagement, or bot activity — is prohibited and grounds for immediate suspension.

5. Content & Conduct

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on VastCurrent ("Your Content"), including posts, replies, and profile information. By posting content on the Platform, you grant Alcin Technologies LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, subject to the anonymisation policy described in Section 10.

5.2 Content Standards

You are solely responsible for Your Content. You agree that Your Content will not:

• Be false, misleading, or intentionally deceptive (misinformation).
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse any individual.
• Impersonate any person, organisation, or brand.
• Infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
• Contain spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
• Be generated by automated bots or AI systems without clear disclosure.
• Promote, facilitate, or glorify illegal activities.
• Contain sexual content involving minors in any form.
• Contain malware, phishing links, or content designed to compromise the security of others.
• Violate the privacy of others, including sharing personal information without consent.

5.3 No Bots or Inauthentic Accounts

VastCurrent is built specifically to protect authentic human conversations. You may not use automated scripts, bots, or AI agents to create accounts, post content, follow users, like posts, or engage with the Platform in any way. Accounts suspected of automated activity will be subject to immediate suspension without notice.

5.4 Reporting

If you encounter content or accounts that violate these Terms, please use the in-app reporting tools. False or malicious reports submitted in bad faith may result in action against the reporting account.

6. Moderation & Enforcement

We reserve the right to review, remove, or restrict any content or account that we believe, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Platform or its users. Enforcement actions may include:

• Content removal — individual posts or replies may be deleted.
• Shadow limiting — your posts remain visible to you but are suppressed in other users' feeds. You will not be notified of this action.
• Suspension — temporary or permanent restriction of account access. Suspension reasons are communicated to you privately.
• Permanent ban — for severe or repeated violations, including any activity involving minors, credible threats of violence, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.

We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action. We are not liable for any loss resulting from the removal of content or termination of an account that violates these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to VastCurrent — including the Platform's design, software, branding, and features — are and remain the exclusive property of Alcin Technologies LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on any part of the Platform without our explicit written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

VastCurrent integrates third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot verification), and OAuth providers (Google, GitHub, Facebook). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

The Platform may contain links to external websites. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any content, products, or services on third-party sites.

9. Disclaimers

VastCurrent is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alcin Technologies LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content posted by users on the Platform.

10. Account Deletion & Content Retention

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Upon deletion:

• Your profile — including your username, display name, bio, avatar, and all personal information — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Posts and replies you authored will remain on the Platform but will be permanently anonymised — disassociated from your identity with no attribution to your deleted account.
• Likes, follows, and reposts associated with your account will be removed.

We may also terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. In cases of suspension, your content may be removed at our discretion.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Alcin Technologies LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, VastCurrent.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alcin Technologies LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of VastCurrent; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of VastCurrent shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

For users in the European Union or United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your right to bring claims before your local courts or regulatory authorities under applicable consumer protection law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of VastCurrent after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may delete your account.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Alcin Technologies LLC regarding VastCurrent. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations freely.
